Prachit Gupta

Undergraduate Researcher

Prachit Gupta is an undergraduate Mitacs Globalink Intern who will be working at MItHRIL for the Summer of 2024. He hails from IIT Bombay and will be working on a new project titled ‘Safewalk Robotics’.  He will be working on developing basic algorithms ( i.e walking alongside person, route planning, obstacle avoidance) and implementing these on turtlebot4 in both hardware and simulation. He will be evaluating performance of the system by analyzing the results from pilot trials.

He has had several achievements, including:

  1. Represented IIT Bombay at UAS Challenge 2023 in Buckminster, UK, securing three international awards: Design, Advancement, and Scrutineering.
  2. Recognized with a special mention by organizers
    for innovative solution to a then impossible problem
    statement in IARC Challenge 2021
  3. Ranked 917 in a pool of 150,000 applicants in JEE Advanced 2021 for admission into IITs
  4. Awarded KVPY Fellowship, ranking in top 3 % in KVPY 2020, scholarship exam organized by IISc Bangalore

To balance his technical interests, Prachit love escaping the chaos of city life by taking nature walks, going for morning runs, or relaxing by a beautiful lake. He is also enthusiastic about racket sports, particularly badminton, which he has been playing for the past few years. Additionally, he has been teaching himself cardistry and amateur magic tricks, enjoying the thrill of amazement they provide. Always eager to learn, he look forward to meeting new people and sharing their ideas and experiences.
