Jacquie Groenewegen

Accelerated MASc Researcher, Undergraduate Researcher

Jacquie Groenewegen is an undergraduate research assistant in the summer of 2025 and will be joining the lab as an accelerated Master’s student in the fall. Her research explores how physical human-robot interactions can enhance virtual reality experiences, working in collaboration with PhD student Eric Godden. Her broader interests span human-robot interaction, virtual reality, robotic haptics, and robot design.

Jacquie is the recipient of the Charles Allan Thompson Summer Research Award (2025) and the Principal’s Scholarship (2022). Outside of the lab, she is a dedicated member of the Queen’s Rowing Team and enjoys early mornings on the water. She’s also a fan of experimenting with new coffee varieties and playing a competitive game of euchre.
